Ridge Radio started from small beginnings!

At the heart of the 22 towns and villages of Tandridge, serving the community and broadcasting to the wider world.

On the 1st April 2011 Ridge Radio began broadcasting from a custom built studio located opposite the ARC Caterham on the Hill.

Since that time we have relocated several times, but our permanent home is now at Soper Hall, Caterham.

At the time Public figure Sam Gymiah launched the station,  and Bob Angel was the first presenter to be heard, closely followed by Chris Medhurst, and our chairman Matthew Baker, all 3 are still presenting on Ridge Radio.

Many local people had spent a lot of personal time making the project come to life, including Councillor Sally Marks, Mark Jones, Dave Roberts, Ed Ralph and the late John Orrick.

Memories!

From the very beginning Ridge Radio had presenters who could bring quality content and musical knowledge to the station, but it was all those people behind the scenes supporting us that really made it happen. The families and friends, the sponsors and loyal listeners, everyone who contributed, and those who continued to do so have made sure Ridge Radio is still here, in Caterham, and still sounding great.

Tune in 24/7 online to hear a wide range of music genres, from pop to soul, from rock to reggae, new artists and old alike, and some alternative music just for good measure. We also have a business show, chat shows and a sports show, meaning there is something here for everyone.

 

Here at Ridge Radio we are looking forward to new event’s during 2025

We love being involved in our local community but the passed couple of  years many events have been cancelled, so we are sincerely hoping that during 2023 we can return to some sort of normality and attend new local events where we can say hello and thank you for your support.

It is great to see the free Tandridge Independent Newspaper in shops and local businesses, at Ridge Radio we think the newspaper is important part of our community, especially when most local newspapers are choosing to only publish online.

Monthly editions are delivered to local Homes, Supermarkets, Train Stations and Residential Rest Homes throughout the Tandridge District.
